DESCRIPTION OF HOUSES

All Houses:  Have electric kitchens fully equipped with pots, pans, table silver, electric coffee makers, microwaves, and toasters.  Some have mixers and blenders.  Each house does have a fireplace and charcoal BBQ outside.  There are, however, no garbage disposals, dishwashers, telephones, or (except for Birches) TVs.

Birches:  (78 River Road)  Our newest acquisition, this lovely "honeymoon" cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway!   It contains one bedroom in the back with a king size bed and sliding glass doors that open on to the side porch.  This is our only house with cable TV, washer and dryer included.  There is a greatroom with a couch that can be used for a single bed as well, a kitchen with breakfast bar, dining room, bathroom with clawfoot bathtub and separate shower, and a screened front porch.  Apart from the bathroom, there are cathedral ceilings throughout this adorable house.  Note:  Birches, with a central heating unit, is available at any time of the year for daily or weekly rentals.   Birches may be rented fully furnished with linens and blankets.

Breezes:  (35 River Road)  Please Note:  No Smoking or Pets!  Built 1991; 3 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Downstairs:  Porch with lake view.  Greatroom and dining room with cathedral ceiling.  Vermont Castings open hearth stove, and kitchen.  Master bedroom with king bed adjoins bathroom with antique tub and stall shower.  Upstairs:  Bathroom with shower, two bedrooms each with two twins or one king bed. Note:  Breezes is available at any time of the year and in the winter it is rented fully furnished with linens and blankets.

Westward:  (43 River Road) 3 bedrooms, 1 bath.  Downstairs:  Porch adjoins living room/kitchen (great room) with cathedral ceiling, stone fireplace, large breakfast bar and dining area with table and chairs.  Bay windows face the Blue Ridge Mountains.  There are two bedrooms, one with two twins, one with king (or two twins).  Bathroom has shower and antique claw foot tub.  Upstairs:  Loft room with a double bed and three twins (or a king and a twin).  Note:  Westward is a year round house available at all seasons, and in the winter it is rented fully furnished with linens and blankets.

SEASONAL RENTALS

Eastward:  (31 River Road)  4 bedrooms, 1 bath.  Downstairs:  two bedrooms - each has twin beds which can be kings.  The living room/kitchen (great room) has a cathedral ceiling, breakfast bar, brick fireplace, and sliding glass doors which open to a spacious porch with lake view.  The bathroom has a tub/shower.  Upstairs:  Two bedrooms - one with twins, and one with two twins and a double. Note:  This house has gas heat for greater comfort in the evening during the spring and fall seasons.

Lakemont:  (27 River Road)  5 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Downstairs:  Two large porches opening off the living room (which has a stone fireplace) one on front of house overlooking lake, the other opening onto meadow behind house.  Three bedrooms downstairs, two with twins (or kings); the third with a single.  There is a full kitchen with side porch and large bathroom with shower.  Upstairs:  Two bedrooms - one on each side of the house accessed by separate stairways to balconies overlooking living room with cathedral ceiling.  North bedroom has one double, one twin, south has a double.  The bathroom at the top of stairs  on the south side has an antique tub.

Cherrybank:  (32 River Road)  5 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Downstairs:  Large porch on the lake.  Living room with stone fireplace, joins kitchen  with a breakfast bar between them.  Bathroom has tub/shower.  The front bedroom has twin beds and lake view, rear bedroom has single bed.  Upstairs:  Three bedrooms, two with twins (or king), one with a double and a single.  Bathroom has a shower.

Minglewood:  (38 River Road)  5 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Downstairs:  Very spacious porch on two sides of the house overlooking the lake.  Front bedroom opening onto porch has twin beds, rear bedroom has a queen bed.  The living room opens onto both side and front porches, has a stone fireplace and is separated from kitchen by a breakfast bar.  Bathroom has stall shower.  Upstairs:  Three bedrooms:  one has convertible twins or king; one has twins; the third has a double and two twins.  Bathroom has a shower.

Ripple Bay:  (42 River Road)  4 bedrooms, 1 bath.  Downstairs:  Porch overlooking lake opens off living room with stone fireplace, which is separated from kitchen by a breakfast bar.  Master bedroom with lake view has two twins or one king bed; rear bedroom has double bed, and bathroom has tub/shower.  Upstairs:  Two bedrooms.  Main bedroom has a queen bed and three twins (or a king and a twin), the other has a double and a twin.

Mirror Cove:  (44 River Road)  4 bedrooms, 1 bath.  Downstairs:  The master bedroom with lake view has queen bed; rear bedroom has a single bed.  A large porch overlooking the lake opens to the living room/kitchen with fireplace.  The bathroom has a stall shower and an antique claw foot tub.  Upstairs:  Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and two twins, the other with two twin beds.

Fernwood:  (46 River Road)  5 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Downstairs:  Large front porch with lake view adjoins great room with stone fireplace and cedar beams, kitchen and dining room.  One bathroom downstairs with stall shower and large tub.  The downstairs master bedroom in the front of the house has two twins or a king bed.  Upstairs:  One bathroom upstairs with stall shower.  Four bedrooms, one with a double bed; one with twins (or king); one with twins; and one with a double and a twin.  (Two front bedrooms have lake view.)

Pinebrook:  (48 River Road)  5 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Downstairs:  The front porch faces a meadow with space for games and tenting.  Opening off the porch is the living room with a stone fireplace.  There is a kitchen off the living room, a large bathroom with shower stall and antique claw foot tub.  The master bedroom in the front of the house has a double bed, the rear bedroom a three quarter bed.  Upstairs:  Three bedrooms, one has a double, one has two twins, and the other has three twins.  The upstairs bathroom has a shower.
